[WASHINGTON, DC] During a hearing of the Senate Judiciary Committee, U.S. Senator Dick Durbin questioned Wayne LaPierre, Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer of the National Rifle Association (NRA) about the Second Amendment and the view that citizens need weapons to protect themselves from the government. In response, James Johnson, Chief of Police of the Baltimore County Police Department and Chair of the National Law Enforcement Partnership to Prevent Gun Violence, shared his concerns regarding this attitude.
