Protecting Students from Rising Student Loan Costs

[WASHINGTON, D.C.] U.S. Senator Dick Durbin spoke on the floor of the United States Senate to urge Congress to pass legislation preventing student interest rates from doubling for more than 7.4 million students on July 1st, 2012. Durbin also addressed the role of for-profit colleges in exacerbating the growing student loan debt problem by pushing students toward risky, higher-interest, private student loans.
