[WASHINGTON, DC] – Assistant Senate Majority Leader Dick Durbin (D-IL) announced today that the Department of Transportation (DOT) has awarded a $1,079,000 grant to the Springfield Airport Authority. This funding will be used to acquire new land for aircraft approaches, rehabilitate a runway, and improve safety and security at the Abraham Lincoln Capital Airport in Springfield, Illinois.
