Durbin Meets Virtually With Secretary Of The Air Force

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin (D-IL) today met virtually with the newly-confirmed Secretary of the Air Force Frank Kendall to discuss Kendall’s new role and Air Force priorities. On the call, Durbin and Kendall discussed the need to strategically position the Air Force to counter China.  Durbin also advocated for continued support for Air Force installations in Illinois, including Scott Air Force Base.

“It was a pleasure to speak with Secretary Kendall as he assumes his new leadership position. In today’s conversation, I spoke to him about Air Force priorities and how we must invest in capabilities that counter China,” said Durbin. “I also look forward to continuing to work with him in support of Scott Air Force Base and the Illinois Air National Guard.”
